Born to a Danish father and Brazilian mother in Rio de Janeiro, Freya immigrated to South Africa in 1986. She attended Sandringham High School in Johannesburg, and thereafter pursued Advertising, where she graduated with a major in Art Direction. Following this, she completed a post-graduate in Fine Arts at the Langeland Kunstskole in Denmark.

She has traveled extensively over the past 10 years, absorbing the culture, language, art and music of the peoples of over 60 countries.

Since childhood, she has been exposed to the creative energy of established artists and musicians on both sides of her family, hence her passion for painting, dancing, ballet and singing.

Freya has works in private collections in Los Angeles, New York, Denmark, Florida, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
